About Me
I've been a lecturer at UNT for twelve years. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Indiana University, also attended the University of Kentucky, and returned to teaching after twenty-plus years as a corporate advertising vice-president and creative director for several Fortune 500 companies.
I'm listed in numerous Who's Who compilations and was elected Collin County Community College's Sweetheart Professor of the Year. My upper-level students have worked with organizations such as the NBA Dallas Mavericks, Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, CuraLinc Healthcare, North Texas German Shepherd Rescue, the Society for Technical Communication, Racing Limos of Dallas, med fusion, TechCorp, Superior Rex, G.E.T. English Training, and Sabre.
I served term on the Executive Council, am the election judge for the Department of Linguistics and Technical Communication, the chair of the lecturer review committee, and a judge for the President's Writing Awards.
My husband Bill and I live outside Frisco with two Pembroke Welsh corgis (one seen in the photo above and miserable about having his picture taken) and a rescue German shepherd. We also have a 26-year-old Thoroughbred horse and work with several animal rescue groups.
